Turmeric, known as Haridra in Charak Samhita, is derived from the rhizomes of the Curcuma longa plant. It is renowned for its Tridosha hara properties, balancing all three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and cleansing qualities. In Ayurveda, turmeric, or Haridra, is a sacred herb known for its powerful Tridosha hara qualities, meaning it balances all three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Its ushna (hot) and tikta (bitter) properties make it an excellent purifier of blood (rakta shodhaka) and a potent remedy for skin diseases.
